Visual Arts Teacher, UWC Costa Rica

Originally hailing from New Zealand, she has been travelling and teaching internationally for the last 12 years: Indonesia, Japan, and now Costa Rica. She began her career in advertising, after gaining a BA in English Literature, but then later she made the switch to art and studied for another four years to eventually become an art teacher. "I am so glad that I did! Every day I get pleasure from sharing my passion for visual arts and art history with my students and watching as they gain confidence in their own artistic abilities." She enjoys teaching the two-year DP programme because it offers students the freedom to really explore their own themes and ideas, and experiment with materials and techniques to discover the best way of communicating them.

"The UWC experience is intense - for both students and teachers - but ultimately the most rewarding job you can have."
